Pastor Magnus graduated from Calvary Baptist Theological
Seminary in Lansdale, PA in the spring of 1988. During that time he was
actively involved in the extension ministry, spending many weekends
assisting smaller churches with their visitation ministry. After serving as
an assistant pastor in central PA for several years Jim pursued a life long burden to return to his home state of New
Jersey. Pastor Magnus has been serving as the pastor of Maranatha Baptist
Church since 1996.

Letter from the pastor:
Welcome to northern
New Jersey where you can experience a diversified cultural and geographic
setting. On the edge of metropolitan New York our area harbors a busy and
often transient populace of hard working families, eager to see their
families enjoy the benefits of high tech education without missing out on
the wonders of God’s creation, so evident in the more rural sections of the
lake region of northern New Jersey. With easy access to rivers, ocean, and
mountains this area teems with outdoor enthusiasts and naturalists alike.
It is our goal at Maranatha to assist the folks of this community in
obtaining a personal relationship with the God Who has brought this all
together, through a personal faith knowledge of
His Son, Jesus Christ. In the busyness of the metro life style we encourage
you to, ”Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His
righteousness…” (Mt. 6:33) At Maranatha we invite you to enjoy sound
Biblical preaching with the accompaniment of old fashion conservative
music. Regular fellowship meals promote the close fellowship so much
enjoyed by the Body of Christ. We will be happy to answer any questions you
may have or visit with you at your convenience. It would be our privilege
to have you as our guests at one of our worship services. Until then may
God bless you and prove His will in your life, that the name of Jesus would
be glorified because of it.
Because He
lives,
Pastor Jim
